Steve Knightley – Sanctuary: Songs From Sacred Places

Tuesday 17 March 2026, at 7.30pm

Known for his songs of history and location , Steve will create an evening of material beautifully matched to these resonant venues — churches, chapels and ancient buildings chosen for their atmosphere and acoustic warmth. The concerts will also feature Dan Salvatore, who’s haunting handpan soundscapes add a meditative, ambient dimension to the evening. Expect stripped-back arrangements, strong storytelling, and a focus on the relationship between song, space, and listener.

Drawing on influences from Bob Dylan to William Blake, from the English folk tradition to his own finely crafted compositions, Steve explores songs of history, landscape and human experience — material that resonates naturally in rooms shaped by centuries of song and prayer.

Nick Acheson: This Wild Dream

Wednesday 18 March – Doors 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start

Propolis Books, the publishing imprint of The Book Hive, is thrilled to announce the publication of This Wild Dream: Celebrating 100 years of Norfolk Wildlife Trust by Nick Acheson.

Born and raised in Norfolk, conservationist, writer, and broadcaster Nick Acheson travelled the world for many years before returning to his native county, where his love of the natural world was born. On doing so, he started a monthly column for Norfolk Magazine on behalf of Norfolk Wildlife Trust (NWT), in which he described in passionate detail the glorious biodiversity on his readers’ doorsteps. For over a decade, these columns have been an account of our changing countryside, a call to action to protect it and a diary of the tireless work involved in keeping the original aim of the Trust alive.

This Wild Dream is a carefully edited and beautifully produced selection of those articles published by Propolis in a rather decadent foiled hardback edition to celebrate Norfolk Wildlife Trust’s centenary year. Each season is introduced by an acclaimed Norfolk writer — Raffaella Barker, Ashley Hickson-Lovence, Jessica Streeting and Jeremy Page — and features an introduction by NWT’s president Patrick Barkham as well as a foreword by Lady Dannatt.

Perfect for those who treasure Norfolk’s glorious wildlife, mourn the devastation it has suffered, and value the remarkable work of NWT, This Wild Dream is also a reminder that by working together, we can preserve for the future what has so nearly been lost in the past.

At The Octagon Chapel event in Norwich, Nick will be in conversation with esteemed author and local legend, Patrick Barkham. Their talk will be followed by an audience Q&A and the chance to get your copy signed.

Tickets £5 (all profits to Norfolk Wildlife Trust) available here: https://www.thebookhive.co.uk/event/nick-acheson-this-wild-dream-octagon-chapel-norwich/
